It's Spooky Season!

It's Spooky Season!

Well folks, it's that time of year again. Pumpkin shit everywhere and spooky stuff in every store...it's even made its way into Magic with the soon-to-be-released Duskmourn: House of Horror! This set brings modern elements that we haven't seen in MTG before, such as chainsaws and TVs! The whole world is literally just this spooky house. Some MTG fans are turned off by the idea of modern electronics, but why they heck couldn't there be a plane (or multiple planes) where this stuff exists. Some spoilers are out, and the excitement seems much lower than the bunnies, frogs and racoons of Bloomburrow, which for me and my store was a pretty dang successful set. So the verdict is still out on this set, but my thoughts are that it will be the better received that OTJ and Murders, because let's face it, horror is cooler than cowboys and murder mysteries.

"Nazi are bad", shouldn't be are controversial take but for one developer at TopDeck he just loves em! TopDeck has ousted Zain from the leadership team, due to being openly racist, a follower of holocaust deniers and other awful behavior, but it is unknow if they still hold a role with the company. The removal of this person was not a result of the big bad cancel culture, but the MTG community pointing out that these types of people are not welcome in our circle...or any circle! It's no surprise that Zain is an anagram for Nazi. Good riddance!

On a personal note, I apparently do not have that dog in me, as I have been kicked out of my first drug trial (the one that worked on dogs). My cancer has progress more but my doctors and I remain optimistic. I was immediately enrolled in a new drug trial and have already received my first treatment. Funny story about this drug. While doing a lot of reading and research and found that it was SUPER early in the recruiting process, so I assumed I would be in the first handful of humans to receive it, just like the last trial. I sat in my room about 10 minutes until infusion and asked, "So, how early am I on this trial? Like what number am I on the list of patients to receive this?", they looked around and kind of laughed and said, "Well, you are patient number one". So obviously this made me a little more nervous, but I'm a week out and I'm still breathing! Another note, this trial was tested on golden hamsters, so let's hope I got that hamster in me!
